Abstract
Pancreatic injuries from external trauma occur relatively infreguently because the pancreas is retroperitoneal and protected with chest, abdominal wall and other abdominal organ, but recently pancreatic trauma is becoming more common, paralleling the increase of trauma in general.
The management of pancreatic injuries is a difficult surgical problem because of their infrequency, the relative surgical inaccessibility of the organ, and the large number of associated injuries. A report is made here on three cases of pancreatic injuries authors have observed recently and the history, incidence, diagnosis, mortality, complication, and treatment of the pancreatic injuries were reviewed.
